A tiny place where they still have dining area and full of crowd! I have heard my friended recommended their Portuguese egg tarts so decided to give it a shot since I'm a huge fan of Portuguese egg tarts. It is really good and the price is also fairly cheaper than other places in NYC! It comes with bigger size and tastes eggy! Highly recommend if you are also a fan of egg tarts and around the neighborhood!

My husband and I drove to this bakery on 8th Avenue in Brooklyn a couple of weeks ago to try their Portuguese egg tarts. The bakery was packed. This bakery seems very popular for their baked goods. The air was filled with the aroma of baked goods which was nice. I waited in-line and ordered the tarts when it was my turn. Each tart was bigger than what I've eaten before. They were $1.75 each. Although the tarts were big, they weren't that sweet. I've had sweeter. I think each bakery makes it differently. I'm not sure I'll go back for the tarts but I'll definitely visit again to try other baked goods.

The macanese pastel de nata. That's it. That's all you need to know. When it's fresh out of the oven (which is usually is because you gotta wait for it, it's so popular) and the custard just melts in your mouth-- :chefs-kiss:. The breads are also super popular and all look delicious, so as you wait in line to order the egg tart, you can decide on a couple to serve as breakfast the next day. There will be a line. It will probably take a bit of time. It's definitely worth it.

Oh damn, definitely one of the best Portuguese egg tarts of my life! I came by to pick up a box of them for $10.50, which comes with half a dozen. It's the perfect thing to bring to a party or as a gift. They were piping hot when I got them and smelled delicious. The egg tarts themselves are filled with a smooth custard. When I say they're filled, there was so much eggy goodness in these pastries. I was stuffed, but kept wanting to eat more.

Xin fa = Lily bloom? This place kept on popping up on my reels. Decided to try it out! This is the OG location. There are a few other locations in Brooklyn as well. There was a line upon arrival, although the line did move pretty quickly. I got half dozen of the Portuguese custard tarts! They were hot and fresh out of the oven! I don't think it's fair to compare these to the ones from Portugal, but I will anyway? These are not as good but it was good to Brooklyn standard lol the crust is not as flicky as I would hope. There are no seatings in the bakery. There are some standing table which is quite common for Chinese bakery.

Indubitably, I must declare that the egg tart I had the pleasure of indulging in was nothing short of a gustatory symphony, an unparalleled masterpiece that quite literally transcended the bounds of culinary excellence, leaving an indelible imprint upon my palate and bestowing upon me the profound realization that it reigns supreme as the pinnacle of egg tart perfection. The taro bun also had me on my KNEES. MY KNEES !!! I typically don't eat a fried type taro bun because the grease gets to me at about the halfway point but this bun had me by the REIGNS. Down to the last BITE !! I was GOOPED. And the warm milk tea topped me off fr. But also the ladies were so nice I just wanted to squish them. Even with a busy line they still have a good attitude and a heehee haha amongst themselves.

I tried their egg tart for the first time and it was the best egg tart I ever had!!! It's warm and the inside is so soft and taste amazing! It's not too sweet and perfect! We went there around lunch time and there is already a long line there. If you want to try, then I would recommend you to go in the morning when there is no line. People usually get it by a box of 6 pieces because it's just too good! When I go next time, I'll definitely get the box lol

So many rave reviews for their Portuguese egg tarts so I have to give it a try! It lives up to the hype! Super crispy shell and smooth and hot custard filling. The one I ate hot and piping on the spot was really good. I saved one for 6 hours later, and gotta say crust became soggy and not crunchy anymore. So eat the egg tarts hot if you can!

This place is famous for egg tarts for good reason. They're amazing. But if you don't speak Chinese, it's not an ideal experience. EGG TARTS: Texture, flavor, and they come out hot because they're just constantly making them due to the demand. Creamy, sweet but not too sweet. YUM. They sell other pastries too, I just have only ever gotten the egg tarts. SERVICE: In the middle of Brooklyn Chinatown, it's mostly Chinese that's spoken here (I'm guessing Mandarin but I don't actually know being a non-speaker). My main complaint about the service is that their system is super disorganized. You wait in line to pick whatever goodies you want, order drinks or egg tarts, and pay. If you're getting egg tarts, you give them your phone number so they can identify you (they'll likely tell you it's a 10-20 minute wait depending on how busy it is). Then you hang out or do whatever. But the line of people waiting for their egg tarts has no order, and because of the language barrier I feel awkward budding in to try to ask. You write your whole number but they only use the last 4 to identify you. I think they would do better with a better system, like deli numbers or something. Would be more orderly. I always end up waiting longer than they tell me because of it. Which I think says something about how good their egg tarts are... AMBIANCE: They have a limited seating area inside the store of wood/metal benches and metal tables. Each table can seat 4, but it's really better to sit down while you wait or have one quick egg tart. It's loud inside so I wouldn't suggest staying to hang out. TLDR: Get their egg tarts, but prepare for chaos. Or come with a Chinese speaker!

Such a great Portuguese egg tart. A little bit different than the ones I've had as this was super creamy and softer. It still retained its shape with each bite. The texture was almost like Chinese sweet steamed egg that you would eat for dessert. They keep the egg tarts warmed, so when you get it, it's piping hot still. A great option for colder days. The pastry is flakey and buttery and everything you want in an egg tart crust. Just slightly oily. Plenty of people coming in and out for the Portuguese egg tarts and for good reason.
